About mint

There are many mint cultivars, we distinguish them up to several dozen. Some of them can be found naturally in the wild, but mint is a favorite plant for growing on flowerbeds or in pots. Perhaps the most famous mint is peppermint. It originated in the beginning of the 17th century in England.

Mint is one of the oldest medicinal herbs. Its leaves contain up to 2.5% of essential oils, the main active ingredient is carvone. Mint stimulates the activity of the intestines, the stomach and the gall bladder, it is used in the absence of appetite. It dampens and removes convulsions, especially in the digestive tract. It alleviates flatulence, acts disinfectively and encourages excretion of digestive juices, especially bile.
